Net Monitor Editor's Review

Net Monitor is a network monitoring tool that features a lot of useful tools.

It has the support for every network device from your Mac. It detected all of them including the BlueTooth network connection.

It has a highly customizable interface. You can place the histogram in a floating window, in the Dock, in a regular window or in the Menu Bar.

The traffic log is generated pretty well depending on the device you are monitoring at a certain moment. You can generate advanced HTML reports using the traffic log.

I liked the Stopwatch functionality. You can detect the average and the peak speed for your connection and the transfered data for upload and download bandwidths as long as the Stopwatch is running.

It includes advanced features for the PPP (Point-to-Point Protocol) connections. The application allows you to connect/disconnect & auto reconnect at any time.

Another nice feature is the possibility to monitor a remote computer. In order to do this you have to run two verbatim copies of this software, each with its own license.

Pluses: it has a very good implementation of features, it is stable, it has good functionality. The program is highly customizable.

Drawbacks / flaws:

In conclusion: if you want to monitor your network traffic, you can use this tool pretty well. The support for PPP connections is good.
